Dr Zishang Zhu
Zishang Zhu, Male, BArch, MSc, PhD, is a research fellow and a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellow at School of Engineering and Computer Science, University of Hull (UK), and has established excellent reputation as a young researcher in the areas of green building design theory, green building optimization algorithm, building energy performance simulation & analysis and building integration method with renewable energy systems. Over the 10-years’ professional experience, he has been involved in 9 research projects funded by EU, Royal Society, Innovate-UK, and China Ministry of Science and Technology with accumulated fund value in excess of £2.1 million. Up to date, he has published 12 journal/conference papers, involved authorisation of 1 books, gave speeches in 6 international conferences. His research in green building design method and optimized building integration strategies for renewable energy system has been well recognized in the sector, having received the 2016 Innovation Award of the UK Chinese Association of Resource and Environment.
Furthermore, Zishang Zhu also has rich real-world engineering project design experience in the area of green building & urban district design, consultation, certification, and design-aid software development, represented by 20 engineering consultancy projects and 4 independent computer tools worth £1.5 million in total. These superb building project, with an accumulated annual energy-saving of 3 mWh, has won a few of design award. Also, the represented innovative design aid tool, “green office building design assessment and optimisation tool”, are on the way towards commercialization owing to its high performance and practicality.
