He started the data center business of 1-Net Singapore in 1999 and managed large-scale data center and network operations for the government sector followed by Data Center and Cloud service providers in Asia Pacific.
He was General Manager with Keppel Data Centres Holdings from 2009 to 2014 and VP in a China cloud service provider in 2015. He is currently with Uptime Institute – a global authority on Data Center that through the respected Tier Standards certifications that has evaluated over 1,000 data centers in over 80 countries.
James is a current member part of the Singapore National Green IT Standards Committee (SS564 standard) and he is one of two Singapore representative to International Standards Organizations - ISO/IEC for JTC1/SC39 – for energy efficient data center standards. James has been on panel of judges for category of data center or cloud services in Asia Pacific and beyond since 2015 including DataCenterDynamics Asia Pacific Award for 2016 and Global Award for 2017, and Broadgroup’s DataCloud Asia Award 2018.
James shares his passion in data centre through articles on data center business strategy, data center market review, and operations; and he speaks occasionally at data center industry events.
James holds a Master’s in Business Administration and Bachelor Degree in Computer Science with First Class Honours.
